The tasting will take place on Tuesday 16th of May, from 11am to 1pm, in Ely’s Brasserie (CHQ). After last’s year masterclass on white wines from Burgundy, Charles Derain will be back to talk to us about Pinot Noir from the very same region. It will be a unique chance to listen to one of the best Burgundy experts in Ireland and to explore the different facets of Pinot Noir. Please book a space by contacting Julie at down2wine@gmail.com.

On Tuesday 28th of February, Rafael Salazar of Vinos Tito wine Company, organised a fascinating masterclass for the Irish Guild of Sommeliers. From its recognition as a DO in 1925 and then as a DOCa in 1991 until now, Rioja has known many revolutions. By sharing his knowledge and passion and thanks to a carefully chosen wine selection, Rafael demonstrated that Rioja is a complex topic driven by many different schools of thought and styles.

Tuesday 7th of February – 11am-1pm – Ian Brosnan, wine director of Ely Wine Bars, will be giving us a tasting about Australian Wines. Ian has recently been participating in the James Busby’s trip to Australia and came back from it with plenty of new information.
The Australian Wine tasting on Tuesday 7th February went extremely well.
Ian Brosnan introduced  6 different wines of extremely high quality. He sourced some of the wines through wine Australia who were kind enough to offer them to us. (Including one bottle of Bindi Chardonnay). Ian’s knowledge about the topic was outstanding and his presentation was superb.
