    On Thursday 23rd of May, Sherry lovers have lots of reasons to be happy about as Sherry fans John Wilson and Raymond Blake are promoting a get together for the World Sherry Day.

  • 2013 Sommelier Course

    Sommelier Certificate Course commencing  September,2013

    Following the hugely successful training programmes which have taken place in 2010 , 2011,2012, The Irish Guild of Sommeliers (IGS) in partnership with the Restaurants Association of Ireland (RAI) are delighted to announce they will be running another modular 8 week Sommelier Certificate Course in wine service and product knowledge to members of both organisations. This will conclude with an exam in January,2014. The course  venue will be The Stephen’s Green Hibernian Club,9, St. Stephen’s Green, Dublin,2.

    Lecture 4: 21st October

    Lecture 5: 29th October

    Burgundy Wines Masterclass

    The National Off-Licence Association and the Discover the Origin campaign are again delighted to invite NOffLA members to discover the wines of the Bourgogne region of France during a special master class.  Taste the delicious and unique wines Bourgogne has to offer, as well as finding out more about food and wine matches. The Discover the Origin initiative features a range of food and wines with Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) status, including Parma Ham, Parmigiano-Reggiano Cheese, Bourgogne Wines, Port and Douro Wines. Each of these is produced using traditional methods, as well as for having a unique taste and heritage.

    A Tasting Masterclass was conducted by Dr. Sandro Boscaini – President of MASI Agricola accompanied by his colleague Mr. Pier Giuseppe Torresani, Export Manager on Tuesday 7th May, 2013 at the United Arts Club, 3 Upper Fitzwilliam Street, Dublin 2.
