A strong and dedicated committment to viticulture has always featured prominently among the activities of this family. With the goal of being the most prestigious Tuscan wine producer, they firmly believe in respecting the local land, focusing on the highest quality for its grapes, and investing in their key personnel.

Pomino Bianco comes from one of Tuscany’s most renowned areas for the production of high-quality wine; it is made from chardonnay and pinot bianco grapes that have been at home in Pomino for many years.

Serving suggestions:
As an aperitif, or with vegetarian antipasti, fish steaks or fillets, such as salmon
Remole is as blend of cabernet sauvignon and sangiovese sourced from areas of Tuscany long renowned for yielding wines of great aromatic complexity, with full-fruited aromas. Remole has an excellent body and sturdy structure.

Serving suggestions:

A classic example of a wine for all dishes, on all occasions. Enjoy it for example with charcuterie that is not too spicy, or with full-flavoured pasta dishes such as all’amatriciana.

Thanks to its outstanding local climate, Chianti Castiglioni mirrors perfectly the qualities of its local growing area. Smooth-textured and eminently fruity, it displays a fine clean-edged structure.

Serving suggestions:

Full-flavoured dishes such as meat-sauced pappardelle, and roast chicken as well, sautéed beef with vegetables, and medium-aged cheeses.

Tenuta Frescobaldi di Castiglioni

Tenuta Frescobaldi di Castiglioni super Tuscan wine from Italy

Tenuta Frescobaldi di Castiglioni, Toscana IGT

The rich, elegant Tenuta Frescobaldi di Castiglioni, is a delightful blend that marries the elegance of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with the classic soul of Sangiovese. The estate’s iconic wine is clearly in a modern key, but holds fast to the qualities of its local terroir. The labels of the bottles prior to the 2009 vintage presented the caption as “Tenuta di Castiglioni”.

Tasting Notes
Tenuta di Castiglioni’s deep, opaque ruby-red, rimmed in purple, intrigues the eye. The nose is marked by appealing, fragrant fruit, with deep draughts of dark-fleshed fruit, such as wild blackberry, black cherry, plum, and strawberry, which shade into toastier notes of cocoa powder, roast espresso bean, tobacco leaf, vanilla, and cinnamon. Impressively full-bodied, the palate shows pleasurably warm, smooth, and well-rounded. Its tangy acidity and noble tannins, already well integrated into the structure, contribute to its exemplary balance. Subtle fruit enlivens a lengthy, long-lingering finish.

Castello di Nipozzano Estate

The Castello di Nipozzano, built in the year 1000 as a defensive fortress, became the center of communal life for the village of Nipozzano. Today the castle houses the wine cellar, where the estate red wines are produced and cask-aged. Castello di Nipozzano also serves as Frescobaldi’s hospitality center and as a site for its fine food and wine initiatives.

The estate lies in the heart of the Chianti Rufina area, covering 626 hectares at elevations between 250 and 400 metres. 240 hectares are planted with Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. The estate’s soil, rich in clay and limestone, plus the dry, well-ventilated weather together compose the ideal terroir for the production of wines that are elegant, well balanced, and full bodied with firm structures to age well for many years. Those qualities are amply demonstrated by Frescobaldi Nipozzano Chianti Rufina Riserva DOCG and by the Frescobaldi Montesodi and Frescobaldi Mormoreto crus.

CastelGiocondo Estate

The Vineyards

Constructed in 1100 to guard the road from the port at Talamone to Siena, the castle has belonged to the Frescobaldi family since 1989. Already one of the top-quality producers of Brunello di Montalcino in the late 19th century, the tenuta of Castelgiocondo yields massively-structured wines of great complexity and balance.

The estate lies on the southwestern slope of Montalcino, at elevations ranging from 180 to 400 metres, and comprises 815 hectares, with 230 hectares under vine. A total of 152 hectares are officially registered for the production of Brunello di Montalcino. The soils, given their various elevations, are diverse, and the climate is warm and dry, relieved by marine breezes: these are ideal conditions for producing very full-bodied, sturdily-structured and powerful wines that are, at the same time, characterized by remarkable finesse and balance. The wines produced at the Castel Giocondo estate are: Frescobaldi CastelGiocondo Brunello di Montalcino RiservaFrescobaldi CastelGiocondo Brunello di MontalcinoFrescobaldi Campo ai Sassi Rosso di Montalcino and Frescobaldi Lamaione.
